Appointments can be made either by asking at the reception desk or by calling 01382 432030. The receptionist may ask you for some details in order to assess the urgency and to appoint you appropriately. Any information received will be treated with the utmost confidence.
Telephone consultations with the GP or the Practice Nurse will be offered if required.
Please note that we provide extended opening hours for our patients. This service runs every second Tuesday or Wednesday from 07:30 to 08:20. Please note that the phones are not in operation from 07:30 to 08:00.
The Practice Nurse will see patients for routine chronic disease reviews and will also hold daily minor illness clinics. Our practice nurse is fully trained in minor illness and prescribing and can see patients independently for minor ailments. When you contact the practice the receptionist may ask for some brief details in order to assess whether you can be seen by the nurse rather than the doctor. Please note that the practice nurse will continue to see patients for routine items such as smears, stitch removal, ear syringing, dressings and travel vaccinations etc.
Our healthcare assistant will see patients for bloods, ECG’s, blood pressure readings, BMI recordings and basic health promotion advice.
We have interpreter services in place for patients who are unable to speak English. The practice will use a phone based interpretation service provided by NHS Tayside. Please alert the practice if you require this service as this will require additional consultation time.
If you find that you are unable to keep your appointment please phone and cancel it at least 24 hours before. If you fail to attend for a booked appointment we will record the missed appointment and write to you. Patients who consistently fail to attend appointments may be removed from the list.
If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment the GP or Practice Nurse may not be able to see you.
